Complete waterproofing at Campos Melo Secondary School

As part of the refurbishment works at Campos Melo Secondary School in Covilhã, a high-performance anti-slip waterproofing system was installed across an area of approximately 500 m². The solution was designed to protect exposed surfaces, improve user safety, and ensure long-term durability in demanding outdoor environments.

To meet the technical requirements of the project, the following waterproofing system was applied:

• Primer 0230: A surface preparation primer that promotes excellent adhesion between the substrate and the waterproofing system.
• Starflex HR-M: A high-performance anti-slip waterproofing membrane designed to provide effective protection against water infiltration while enhancing pedestrian safety.
• Starflex Ultra: Applied to skirting areas and perimeter details, ensuring continuity and watertightness throughout the waterproofing system.
• Reinforcement Membrane: Integrated into the system to improve mechanical strength and overall stability.
• Expansion Joint Treatment: Specifically designed to accommodate the natural movements of the structure while maintaining the integrity of the waterproofing layer.
• Polistar E/P: A protective top coat that enhances the system's resistance and contributes to long-lasting performance.
• Starflex T: Applied to stone surfaces as a transparent waterproofing solution, preserving the original appearance and aesthetics of the material.

The implemented solution combines protection, functionality, and architectural integration, ensuring that the refurbished areas maintain high standards of safety and performance while preserving the original character of the existing construction elements.
